The Senior Director, Business Development (Generic Pharma) will be responsible for the evaluation and execution of the company's growth strategy via partnerships, product pipeline, and strategic initiatives. This role is pivotal in helping to shape company growth, culture and presence within our industry and customer base. The person in this role will interface externally and with key leaders internally to deliver continuous growth of the company's pipeline of products and sales opportunities. This role requires an independent, organized, and forward-thinking individual who excels at interacting with both internal and external stakeholders and thrives in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment. Analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to motivate others and provide the leadership necessary to accomplish team goals.
Key Responsibilities Strategize and build a quality generics product pipeline in a complex sales environment. Drive new business and strategic initiatives that meet or exceed goals set by the company Serve as the primary point of contact for several key manufacturer accounts and build/maintain business relationships with those partners Mentor, manage and guide a team that is responsible for over 80 manufacturer relationships Organize team and pipeline activities that drive efficient and effective hunting efforts and execution of opportunities Proactively generate new manufacturer relationships for the company Coordinate with internal stakeholders to bring new products to market with efficiency Regularly report on Business Development opportunities, results and capture rates Negotiate agreements with new and existing manufacturer suppliers Collaborate with Marketing to drive continuous improvement to pricing strategies Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to manage the product lifecycle effectively Support the Chief Commercial Officer with clear visibility to organized and defined business development strategies and initiatives Build and promote the our client's brand by participating in industry events and contributing to corporate marketing efforts Supervision:
Received: Chief Commercial Officer Given: Business Development Managers (2-4) Key Requirements Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years' leadership experience in a Business Development, Sourcing/Procurement, or related role 10+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech environment Experience in pharmaceutical contracting with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense is highly desired Exceptional negotiation skills Experience in leading (supervising, directing, coaching, developing) direct reports Demonstrated record of increasing responsibility Demonstrated ability to deliver revenue growth Exceptional interpersonal skills Exceptional oral and written communication skills Willing to take initiative and work with limited direction
