JOB SUMMARY:
Provides strategic direction in the finance function for Universal Orlando Resort. Specific job duties entail ensuring accuracy of financial results (accounting function) and financial reporting submissions to UDX, NBCU and Comcast (financial reporting function). Job involves leading a team of directors, senior managers and/or managers. Candidate must participate in financial reviews with executive leadership.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive ad hoc internal UDX Orlando and corporate NBCU projects. Tasks include research of highly complex accounting issues, lease analysis, and finance support for digital projects. Additionally responsible for presenting accounting positions to the UDX controllership team.
Direct and supervise the accounting and finance staff by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, career development, and performance management.
Lead the financial reporting process through interactions with VP, Finance – Controller, and department leaders to ensure timely and accurate reporting to Senior Management and Corporate groups. This includes integrating new theme parks and introducing accounting policies to ensure reporting consistency across the consolidated division.
Lead the month-end close process including review of journal entries internal reports, and consolidated financial statements. Communicate with business units/departments to ensure that all close deadlines are met, and results are reported accurately. Manage the monthly/quarterly variance commentary process and perform other analytics as required.
Oversee short- and long-term estimate and budgeting processes for free cash flow reporting and various P&L areas, i.e., fringe benefits.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Master's degree or other advanced degree required for CPA.
EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of accounting or finance experience, 10+ years' supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
CPA required.
