**General Description:**
The Senior Director of Scientific Communications/Publications provides publications expertise and insight into the development and optimization of integrated strategic global publication plans as well as driving scientifically rigorous and complaint publications across the product lifecycle.
This role has responsibility for the line management of a team of Publications Leads (PLs) encompassing the breadth of the BeiGene early- and late-stage solid tumor portfolio and interfaces with senior leaders to ensure alignment with global publication strategies and plans, developed and delivered, in a globally consistent way.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Lead, coach, and mentor the Solid Tumor Global Publications Teams within Scientific Communications.
+ Responsible for the overall development and execution of Global Publication Plans for the solid tumor franchise; must work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure timely development of high-quality publications related to BeiGene data.
+ Works closely with the PLs to share aspects of publication planning and delivery considering global product publication strategy and plan.
+ Ensure the integrated publication strategy/plan is consistently applied across all studies and clear and supportable scientific data are communicated internally (product teams, governance bodies) and externally (regulatory authorities, payers, physicians and patients)
+ Create strategies for digital and enhanced publication content.
+ Ability think, act, and communicate proactively.
+ Oversee the publication budget, allocate resources, and manage external agencies for the solid tumor franchise.
+ Serve as internal point of contact regarding solid tumor publication program status ensuring proactive communication of overall status with cross-functional team, investigators, and alliance partners to ensure the needs of the regions and key countries.
+ Lead the development of medical and scientific lexicons and communication platforms as needed in close collaboration with cross-functional colleagues.
+ Build relationships with external authors, journal editors, and congress personnel.
+ Lead publication steering committees or strategy discussion, where necessary, in collaboration with study investigators and internal colleagues.
+ Provide publications expertise and insight to develop effective operating models and build effective relationships with Alliance partners as required by the business needs.
+ When needed, provide support to PLs working in alliances with joint venture partners and key alliance partners to ensure the right scientific and technical skills and capabilities are leveraged to drive productive relationships in support of the overall alliance strategy.
+ Support executive director and leadership team in driving development of publication compliance with internal and external publications policy and standards.
+ Provide leadership and influence any ongoing strategic development within clinical and other areas that may impact the ability of BeiGene to deliver industry-leading publications activities in an ethical way.
+ Build advocacy for publications through effective relationships with key stakeholders and customers across all relevant areas, and by creating the framework to maximize brand value through industry-leading publications activities.
**Minimum Requirements Education and Experience:**
+ Advanced post-graduate scientific degree is required (MD, PharmD, PhD) with relevant proven experience in pharmaceutical/medical communication/healthcare industry, development, research.
+ 12+ years within the pharmaceutical industry, a consulting organization, and/or a medical communications company; minimum of 8 years in scientific communications/publications is required.
**Other Qualifications:**
+ Managerial experience required.
+ Demonstrated experience as a medical publication professional and in-depth knowledge of the principles of developing effective publication strategies and plans.
+ Demonstrated performance and resource management skills in a global organization.
+ Broad knowledge of the drug development process, with a focus on integrated strategic publication planning.
+ Knowledge of relevant disease areas (oncology, solid tumor) required.
