The Senior Director of Cloud Operations (CloudOps) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure to support enterprise applications and services. This role requires a visionary leader who can oversee cloud operations, streamline processes, and ensure service reliability, availability, and performance. Working closely with engineering, product, and security teams, the Senior Director will drive cloud strategy, manage cloud costs, and lead initiatives to improve infrastructure resiliency and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Management
Oversee the design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid environments.
Ensure scalability, high availability, and security of cloud infrastructure supporting critical enterprise applications.

Cloud Strategy and Innovation
Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for CloudOps, in collaboration with the architecture team, aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
Lead cloud migration and transformation initiatives, ensuring minimal downtime and a seamless transition to modern cloud platforms.

Team Leadership and Development
Build and lead a high-performing CloudOps engineering and CloudOps support teams, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Mentor and develop team members, focusing on skills advancement, career growth, and knowledge sharing.

Reliability and Performance Optimization
Implement best practices for monitoring, incident management, disaster recovery, and high availability to ensure optimal service uptime and costs.
Establish and monitor KPIs to measure and improve the reliability, performance, and security of cloud services.

Cost Management and Optimization
Optimize cloud usage and costs by implementing effective cost-management practices, such as rightsizing, automation, and resource scheduling.
Develop and maintain financial models for cloud usage and support cost forecasting and budget planning.

Security and Compliance
Partner with the Fortive InfoSec team to establish and maintain robust security policies and practices across cloud environments.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR) by implementing necessary controls and audits.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to support and enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and DevSecOps practices.
Act as the primary point of contact for cloud operations, facilitating smooth communication and alignment with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in cloud operations, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).
Proven experience with cloud migration, architecture design, and infrastructure management in large-scale environments.
Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and cost management practices.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
Experience working in an agile, fast-paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevSecOps.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional, or Azure Administrator Associate.
Demonstrated experience in financial management and forecasting in a cloud environment.
