The Role:Forge Global, a pioneer in delivering data intelligence solutions for private markets, is searching for a new Data Product Manager. We're seeking an experienced professional with a background in building & growing financial market data products with a deep modern product skillset and a drive to execute. This role is pivotal in advancing our strategic mission of fostering transparency in private markets, expanding our product offering, and supporting the creation of an industry leading trading market place.
Location: This will be a hybrid role where you'll be onsite 2-3 days a week in our San Francisco or New York office.
Responsibilities:Define and communicate a clear vision and roadmap for data-driven products, aligned with business goals and customer needs.Develop a strategy that leverages data insights to drive product enhancements, new data content and analytics.Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, for data-focused products, ensuring successful implementation and impact measurement.Prioritize the product backlog, balancing short-term and long-term goals while maintaining flexibility for strategic shifts.Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for data products, and regularly report on performance and impact.Collaborate closely with data research, operations, engineering, design, and business teams for product ideation, development, testing, and iteration based on client feedback, company vision, and strategic objectives.Partner with data research in developing index products, derived data & analytics, and investment solutions, including rolling out and refining methodology, tools, and technology for index construction, rebalancing, and distribution.Partner with the tech and data operations team to ensure the production of high-quality datasets and efficient implementation of the data lifecycle, from ingestion to distribution.Work with Marketing and GTM teams on product marketing deliverables including collateral development and marketing campaigns.Conduct thorough due diligence on external vendors to enhance data product offerings.Lead and manage local and offshore product management team members.Qualifications:10+ years of product management experience in a client-facing role, most of it attributed to building & launching financial market data products such as indices, derived data, pricing data, and reference data.In-depth understanding of market data and the investment lifecycle across diverse financial asset classes.Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing and developing financial data-oriented products through APIs and feeds.Demonstrated experience in multi-platform integration with external partners.Technology fluency in data platforms and solid experience working closely with data researchers, operations to develop products & tools.Superior communication skills, the ability to drive cross-functional delivery and interact effectively with senior leadership and clients.Demonstrated experience with Agile development, and modern product management practices, approaches and tools across engineering and design.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.Nice to have:Prior experience with private market-related data and venture finance is highly desirable.Indices product development and strong familiarity with institutional asset management is a huge plus.A strong understanding of financial concepts, such as valuation techniques, corporate action adjustments, and price discovery.Demonstrated experience in re-platforming and large-scale systems change initiatives.An unyielding passion for delivering solutions that create a significant impact on customer outcomes and business growth.Master's degree or program in business administration, product management or information science.For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $220,000 - $270,000 + annual bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, annual bonus, and other factors.
