SSG-Project 180 turns lives around through innovative, wraparound services that keep people out of institutions and in their communities. Project 180 is a leader in the forensic treatment space, offering high-quality, specialized treatment programs that serve thousands of justice-involved individuals. Our programs span criminal justice intercepts and include pre-arrest interventions, court-based diversions, jail in-reach, and intensive post-release services. Project 180 operates in partnership with County agencies including the Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Department of Health Services (DHS), and the Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD).

The Position
The Senior Director of Quality & Outcomes will build and lead a team that harnesses the power of data to advance program outcomes and contract compliance. They will collaborate with Program leadership to establish key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor progress, and set data-driven strategic priorities. They will also develop a quality assurance plan to ensure teams meet compliance standards and contract requirements, including timely submission of claims and preparation for audits. To facilitate this work, the Senior Director and their team will co-design a new client management database and oversee ongoing data integrity and staff training. This senior leadership position reports to the Director of Project 180 and is a member of the Executive Team.

Responsibilities Program OutcomesCollaborate with Program leadership to define KPIs, set appropriately ambitious goals, and collect measurable data.Monitor KPI progress, synthesize for the Executive Team, and partner with the Sr Director of Programs to set priorities accordingly.Oversee program support projects led by the Quality & Outcomes team, ensuring appropriate project prioritization and collaboration.Support the Sr Director of Programs in holding program managers and their teams accountable for client outcomes, leveraging data and goal-setting expertise.Ensure Project 180 programs use evidence-based treatment methods aligned with current clinical best practices. Billing & ComplianceBuild a quality assurance plan that outlines standards and expectations for compliance with contract requirements.Develop quality assurance reporting, monitoring and accountability systems, and train Program leaders to implement them with their teams.Ensure timely submission and processing of claims and invoices for DMH and other City and County agency contracts, in compliance with requirements. Troubleshoot compliance issues with Program leadership.Prepare for and respond to external program audits, in partnership with Program leadership.Collaborate with City and County agencies and represent Project 180 in meetings or events. Engage in funder discussions regarding contract requirements and ensure that any new requirements are implemented appropriately. Data ManagementCo-design Project 180's new client management database with the Sr Director of Operations. Define fields and requirements based on program, contract, and measurement needs.Oversee database rollout and ongoing staff training.Design and disseminate clear, accurate reports showing contract, data quality, and KPI progress to goals. Train managers to interpret, monitor, and act on them.Ensure strong data quality and use of Project 180's client management system. Team DevelopmentDevelop team strategy, structure and roles in alignment with Project 180's mission and strategy.Hire, manage, and coach team members towards strong performance and team culture. Minimum QualificationMaster's Degree from an accredited college or university in health-related field, business management, or similar field.6-8 years work experience in relevant functional areas (e.g., strategy, program management, data analytics, contract management, etc).2+ years management experience.Familiarity with data analytics tools and principles (for example: MS Excel, Tableau, statistics coursework, etc).Verification of Employment Eligibility and Background Check. PreferredKnowledge of the Los Angeles forensic mental health system and/or experience working with LA County health agencies (e.g., DMH, DHS).Nonprofit work experience.Contract and Billing Expertise – Understanding of DMH and DHS billing practices, with experience managing contracts, ensuring compliance, and navigating complex funding requirements.Clinical Credibility and Judgment – Solid clinical knowledge and the ability to meaningfully engage with program staff and stakeholders on clinical content. Supervisory Responsibilities
The Sr Director will hire and manage a team of approximately 6 - 8 functional experts.

Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions)
The Sr Director will be based in the Project 180 DTLA office.

Physical Requirements
The employee is expected to move about the Project 180 office throughout the day, which may involve walking, standing, and climbing stairs, or using a mobility device, or similar. The employee is expected to drive, carry a maximum of 20 lbs, listen, and speak in order to complete job requirements.

Mental Requirements
The employee must be able to do any/all of the following: perform complex and varied tasks such as synthesizing information and making decisions without immediate supervision; handle routine distractions, interruptions, noise, and uncontrollable changes in priorities/work schedules; interact professionally and diplomatically in high-stress situations; create and follow plans; meet deadlines.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $130,000-$160,000 per year. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
