Job Description: The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing client projects to prepare electrical deliverables including:
Power Distribution & Electrical System Designs for Process/Industrial FacilitiesSpecifications and Data Sheets (Transformers, Switchgear, Motors, UPS etc.)Vendor Inquiries, Bid Evaluations, and Shop Drawing ReviewsPower System Analysis and Relay CoordinationArea Classification and Electrical Code AssessmentsConstruction Labor/Material Cost Estimates and Project SchedulesProgramming/Set points (VFDs, Relay Protection, Etc.) and Field SupportThe Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for assuring quality and timely completion of engineering designs and reports. The Sr. Electrical Engineer should be comfortable in interfacing with the clients, visiting clients' facilities and performing physical work such as walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs/ladders. Some travel required to client sites and other Nexus offices.
Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in designing electrical distribution/control systems and performing power system calculationsHigh Voltage Substation Design (up to 345 kV) experience preferredSubsurface and overhead transmission line design experience preferredProject lead experience developing engineering schedules, budgets and forecastsWorking knowledge of or familiarity with:Microsoft Office products including MS ProjectAutoCAD and 3-D CAD a plusElectrical design tools and calculationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively in teams and to present a positive image to clientsEducation/Certification Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering requiredAdvanced degree a plusFE certification desired, PE certification a plusPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
