Our Senior Embedded EngineerWill apply their broad skill set to build cutting-edge firmware for our electric vehicle EVSEs. You will lead your team in designing, implementing, and testing embedded firmware within the greater ecosystem of Linux-based, internet-connected, high-power electronics.
Responsibilities:Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and software engineering teams to define specifications and featuresDevelop and support embedded firmware for RTOS-based devices within a larger Linux ecosystemExperience and knowledge of embedded softwareExperience with embedded Linux build environments like Yocto or BuildrootYou'll learn the industry protocols (e.g., OCPP) in-depthYou'll contribute to improving our charging systems software to handle future use cases.Communicates with internal and external resources to understand and formalize requirementsWorks across teams to facilitate efficient development processes and leverage team strengthsDevelops software and/or firmware to match requirementsWorks with QA to facilitate efficient testingQualifications:B.E, B.S or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentFive + years of experience in developing embedded firmwareFamiliarity using Linux as a development environment, including shell scriptingExperience with PythonExperience in the EV charging space is a plusExperience working closely with hardware engineers is a plusDemonstrable ability to collaborate across organizational departmentsSolution-focused and superb problem-solving skills; ability to apply reasonable logic to troubleshoot and resolve issues or make recommendations to appropriate personnel regarding support-related processes.Bonus:Experience in RustJob Title and Compensation:The base salary range for this position is between $180,000 and $230,000, based on full-time employment.Actual salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and work location.Our open positions are based on job competencies that are specific to each role.
