The Role We're searching for a whip-smart, entrepreneurial, proud energy nerd with an unparalleled understanding of energy markets and demand side management to join our world-class team as Senior Energy Markets Manager. This exciting opportunity will provide broad exposure to all that Energy Markets does: from working with Finance on revenue planning and financial reporting, to pushing for market changes with Regulatory Affairs, to educating and pitching with our Sales team, to collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to develop market- and customer-facing products - and much more. This multifaceted role is responsible for managing Voltus's growing distributed energy resources (DER) portfolio in the ERCOT market. The Senior Manager would oversee a team of three. This is a remote role and you can work from anywhere, with the ability to engage in market-facing activities and to hold meetings with coworkers and stakeholders during continental US-based business hours. Candidates must be in the Eastern or Central time zones, or be willing to work early morning Central hours over the summer months.
\n Key Responsibilities:Lead a team of talented analysts, a manager, and interns to manage all energy market activities for ERCOT market programs, including asset registration, position management, settlement, and ongoing portfolio optimization.Serve as the subject matter expert on the demand response programs you manage. Colleagues will look to you for a deep understanding of market rules and participation requirements. Contribute to the analytical tools your team uses to support the operational needs of our market activities as well as the customer-facing needs of our Sales and Marketing efforts.Define and implement processes and procedures to support flawless execution of our market activities, including auction and asset optimization analyses.Develop strategy to improve revenue outcomes in Voltus's ERCOT market programs and to create new program opportunities. Work across teams, including Sales, Finance, Product, and Operations to improve the profitability of our market-specific portfolios.Actively engage and build relationships with policymakers and utility representatives.Develop regulatory strategies to promote the integration of DERs into the ERCOT wholesale market. Generate new ideas for how Voltus can continue to deliver Better Energy and More Cash to our customers. Qualifications:Excellent verbal communication and presentation skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholdersExceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work productUncommonly driven to succeed and maniacally self-initiatedAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment10 years of work experience, or 8 years of work experience and a relevant graduate degree2+ years of directly relevant experience in the demand-side energy industry in the ERCOT market (IESO or PJM experience may also be considered)Familiarity with ERCOT Emergency Response Service (ERS), 4CP, and Load Response (LR) programs  
\n$130,000 - $150,000 a year
Compensation: Base pay is $130,000-$150,000 annually, commensurate with experience, with 10-20% bonus paid semi-annually, and equity.
