Job Description
The Senior Building Information Modeling (BIM) Engineer position is responsible for supporting Wesco's design criteria by developing design templates that govern the requirements of Wesco's locations.
This position will develop and implement innovative Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes while establishing standards and workflows, including construction.
This position engages with several internal stakeholders to develop a comprehensive and coordinated program workflow.
Responsibilities: Lead Building Information Modeling (BIM) related activities including documentation, design, meeting facilitation, content creation, and reviewing models for best practices. Deliver design templates that transition from traditional 2D draft to integrated 3D design. Optimize workflow in Wesco locations with a generative and parametric design approach. Initiate and develop advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology uses while monitoring industry developments and new technologies. Facilitate the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools in workshops to drive alignment in new building designs for operational efficiency, employee experience, and reduction of costs. Coordinate and oversee the construction and installation phase for network buildings including contractor planning, scheduling, and plan execution. Provide on-site support for new site installations and closing site decommissions. Coordinate and collaborate with a wide variety of internal stakeholders to increase the efficiency and efficacy of the building design program. Support design reviews and execute BIM360 features and workflows as necessary to drive adoption. Provide guidance, feedback, quality assurance, and quality control on modeling and delivery methods. Consistently review existing processes for opportunities to increase efficiencies and provide greater value. Lead third-party design vendors as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree - Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field required, Master's degree preferred 5+ years working in an Operations or Supply Chain environment 5+ years experience with Autodesk Suite (Revit, BIM360, Navisworks, AutoCAD) Proficient computer skills, specifically Office Suite products Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Highly organized and detail oriented Flexibility with multi-tasking Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and delivering results Ability to travel 35% - 50%
