Role Overview:
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the Product Engineering team, overseeing its performance in feature delivery, quality, operational excellence, and team growth. This position involves close collaboration with tech leads, product managers, and senior engineers, providing both technical guidance and context for decision-making.
Responsibilities: Accountability for the overall performance of the product engineering team (velocity, quality, operational excellence, hiring, retention, growth, and well-being)Collaborate with tech leads and product managers to guide technical decisionsProvide technical mentorship to senior engineers, fostering consensus on complex and ambiguous requirementsIterate on team metrics and processes, ensuring cross-functional teams own the software they buildPartner with People Operations to manage team performanceShape the engineering culture and continuously recruit top-tier engineering talentManage a growing team and create paths for individual contributor growth Requirements: 12+ years of experience working with top-tier product engineering teams, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software to production6+ years as an engineering managerProficiency in at least one language ecosystem (Python, Ruby, Java, Kotlin, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go)Strong experience with relational databasesHands-on experience developing in the cloud (preferably AWS) with container management (Kubernetes, ECS) and serverless architectureDeep understanding of agile methodologies in practiceExpertise in all aspects of software delivery, including security, reliability, and trade-offs in production environmentsAbility to foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
