Do you have a passion for leading an engineering team and helping other teams achieve great results through tools, systems, and services you and your team have developed and deployed? Do you enjoy championing SRE best practices and applying SRE principles to production services to enable Apple R&D teams to efficiently and securely develop high-quality features? Description We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong technical, communication, and project management skills to handle key responsibilities including but not limited to:
Defining and delivering systems and tools responsible for the reliability and performance of on-prem and cloud-based services.Defining and delivering services with worldwide support.Advising and encouraging engineering best SRE practices to deliver quality capabilities.Defining and growing a diverse and extraordinary engineering team.Minimum Qualifications Proven record as a software engineering manager for at least 5 years of leading a team including DevOps engineers, SRE engineers, or software engineers.Ability to lead multiple projects under time constraints to achieve meaningful results.Knowledge of distributed systems regarding application, networking, containers, and security.Ability to mentor and develop a team, lead with engineering excellence, and maintain a dedication towards meeting customer needs.Preferred Qualifications Experience in the development and deployment of software tools supporting internal groups.Management experience working with globally distributed teams.SRE or DevOps experience managing customer-facing systems in a 24/7 environment.Experience with employing a data-driven approach through monitoring, alerting, and data analysis.Proficiency and passion to independently learn new technologies and software frameworks to leverage.Ability to work and influence across teams and organizations.At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $208,300 and $360,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
