Job Summary: As a Senior Enterprise Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our core infrastructure within the IT department, with a strong focus on Linux and OpenShift environments. This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, OpenShift container orchestration, and infrastructure automation. You'll work on ensuring optimal performance, availability, security, and disaster recovery across a large-scale infrastructure of approximately 5,000 virtual servers, balancing operational responsibilities (70%) with architectural and planning tasks (30%).
Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Management Linux Administration (Senior Level): Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux environments, providing expert-level support across large-scale virtualized server infrastructure.
OpenShift & Container Management: Administer OpenShift container orchestration platforms, ensuring seamless deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
System Security Compliance: Maintain security standards by implementing monitoring and logging mechanisms, responding to vulnerabilities and incidents, and ensuring system integrity.
Performance Tuning: Proactively monitor and optimize Linux server performance to support enterprise applications and workloads efficiently.
Automation & Efficiency Automation Scripting and Tooling: Develop and implement automation using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and PowerShell to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
Proactive Monitoring Solutions: Build automation for ongoing infrastructure health checks, enabling timely identification and resolution of potential issues.
Disaster Recovery & Security Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation: Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies to support enterprise-level business continuity with minimal downtime.
Security Policies and System Updates: Ensure adherence to security policies through regular system updates, patching, and performance optimizations, maintaining the highest security standards.
Architectural Support & Collaboration Technical Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business units to gather and validate requirements, ensuring technical solutions align with organizational goals.
Vendor Interaction and Solution Recommendations: Work with vendors to implement relevant hardware and software improvements, staying current with emerging technologies to drive continual improvement.
Technical Capabilities: Linux Administration (Senior Level): Advanced experience in configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise Linux environments.
OpenShift & Container Orchestration (Senior Level): Strong experience in deploying and managing OpenShift or equivalent container orchestration platforms.
Automation Tools (Senior Level): Skilled in using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and PowerShell to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Disaster Recovery & Security Planning: Experience in designing secure infrastructure and implementing robust disaster recovery measures.
System Performance Tuning: Skilled in monitoring and optimizing server infrastructure for optimal performance and reliability.
Core Accountabilities: Operational Impact: Ensure stability and security of critical enterprise systems through proactive management and troubleshooting.
Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, involving cross-functional teams when necessary.
Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Linux, OpenShift, and automation technologies, with a working knowledge across other infrastructure areas.
Team Interaction: Work independently on complex tasks while collaborating with team members to deliver project milestones effectively.
