About the Assignment
To provide specialist embedded environmental expertise and support to the Drilling & Completions team and assist in achieving a strong environmental culture and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Tasks include:
Monitor activities to ensure Drilling activities are carried out in accordance with environmental approval requirements and the Santos Management System (SMS).
Participate in Regulatory audits & inspections.
Lead/participate in internal environmental auditing for drilling activities. This includes environmental compliance auditing and auditing of contractors.
Write, review and assist in revising environment specific procedures as appropriate.
Provide technical direction on Environmental commitments from Environment Plans to the offshore workforce.
Compile and submit compliance reports as indicated in any Drilling and Completions Environment Plans and/or regulatory requirement to regulators in a technically correct and time efficient manner to meet submission deadlines.
Assist in the reporting of notifiable environmental incidents to Legislative bodies / regulators, including compiling and submission of monthly government environmental recordable incidents reports.
Coordinate the facilitation of Management of Change (MoC) in relations to Environment to support Drilling and Completions activities and communicate subsequent commitments as a result of MoC outcomes.
Support the Environment Team Manager and Drilling and Completions Manager, in conjunction with the Offshore HSE Advisers, to ensure that improvement measures are implemented if environmental performance is found to be non-compliant.
Assist with development and/or organization of appropriate environmental training and hazard/risk reduction programs as required.
Assist in coordinating chemical approvals for drilling activities in accordance with the Drilling Fluid and Chemical Selection in Drilling Activities Procedure.
Monitor incident database and quality of incident/investigation reports and bring to the attention of the relevant Manager/Superintendent/Engineer any identified.

This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.
Location for this assignment is Perth working full-time office hours

About You:
Significant years of experience preferable hydrocarbon industry experience
Experience with electronic maintenance management and incident reporting systems (e.g. SAP and EHS Toolbox)
Demonstrable experience in drilling approvals approvals for oil and gas within Australia
Experience working in environmental approvals, Environment Plans, Oil Pollution Emergency Plans, Commonwealth, State and Territory Environment legislation
Causal Analysis Investigation Training i.e. TapRoot®

Mandatory Tickets / Quals / Certs
Tertiary level qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering/Law or relevant fields with extensive hydrocarbon industry experience
TBOSIET, CA-EBS, MISC, CSTP, OGUK
Internal / External Auditor training
