Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Event Manager to join our team. This role involves managing the behind-the-scenes operations of weddings and events, ensuring they run smoothly and exceed client expectations.
Essential Functions: Event Preparation and Execution: Set up the banquet team for each event, including defining roles, responsibilities, timelines, and breakdown procedures.
Motivate, inform, and prepare the banquet team through Pre-Shift and Event Sales walk-throughs.
Lead vendor management on event days to ensure seamless coordination.
Oversee prep, setup, reset, and breakdown to ensure everything is 'event ready' in accordance with Pippin Hill policies.
Securely close the property, complete a walk-through, and recap at the end of each event.
Financial and Administrative Management: Use P&L by event to project pars, labor, and scheduling needs for the next month's events.
Write a full schedule for the upcoming 30 days and successfully meet the pars, labor budgets, and other metrics.
Lead BEO and demonstrate the ability to ask the right questions, spot potential issues, and provide possible solutions.
Manage P&L actuals for labor and inventory consumption, time clocks, etc.
Conduct weekly team meetings to communicate upcoming event details.
Analyze event consumption costs and optimize spending.
Staff Management: Schedule event staffing according to projections and goal percentages.
Supervise the event assistant managers in their development and growth.
Train and develop a world-class banquet team.
Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety regulations.
Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service throughout the event planning and execution process.
Address and resolve any client issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
Technology and Equipment: Proficiency with TripleSeat.
Competence in using the full range of Google Suite.
General Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods (9 to 12 hours).
Proficiency in reading and speaking English.
Ability to perform repetitive range of motion activities.
Capability to lift 40 pounds.
Ability to successfully carry a tray of food and/or beverages.
Additional Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and quality of event operations.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
