Requirements The Senior Finance Officer for University Services, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, oversees the compilation, monitoring, and review of annual and intermediate budgets for the assigned University Services departments. The Senior Finance Officer will review departmental expenditures to ensure compliance with budget allocations and identify variances against budget plans. This role should establish and guide measures for budgetary control, ensuring longer-term functional objectives translate into established processes to maximize efficacy and efficiency. The Senior Finance Officer supports specialized organizations that are revenue-generating, high-profile facing units, and/or larger organizations with significant size and scope. Duties include but are not limited to:
Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, including development of five-year financial plans.Manage financial reporting and analysis, analyzing financial reports, monitoring transactions, and overseeing budget allocation for business operations.Analyze budgets and financial data and relay fiscal information relevant to stakeholders, including but not limited to: trend analysis, variances from budget/projection, and year-to-date results.Prepare recommendations and analytical presentations related to budgets, financial plans, statistical reports, business forecasts, and internal policies.Identify problems and specific issues in a budget particular area, advising leadership from compiled data and recommending solutions or alternatives.Work Interactions The Senior Finance Officer, University Services, reports to the Assistant Vice President of Financial Management. The Senior Finance Officer oversees all planning and execution activities for the assigned units and is primarily focused on planning and escalation of issues within their assigned cluster. The Senior Finance Officer will supervise work for the Senior Analyst, Budget & Planning, and Planning and Budget Analysts within their cluster. This role will focus on planning and analysis, internal controls, and approvals of critical operational activities to ensure congruence with budget and projections.
Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance; Master's Degree or higher in Business or Finance.Professional Accounting qualifications desirable.10+ years of progressive experience in financial and budgetary management.Experience building and utilizing financial models along with business analytics expertise.Proficiency with complex financial and longitudinal planning, financial forecasting, and revenue and expenditure management.Expert level of proficiency in Excel with prior experience establishing and managing budgets of at least $50M and up to $100M.Prior experience managing complex teams with strong communications and customer service skills.Ability to engage regularly with internal and external stakeholders, including unit leads and administrators across the institution.Strong organizational and time management skills; proficiency managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.Ability to work with a variety of financial systems, with prior experience preferred in Workday, Adaptive.Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as Hybrid. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $103,723.00 - $202,778.93. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
