This is a unique opportunity to take on a broad scope of high impact work across FP&A and strategic finance domains.
As a Senior Financial Analyst on the Finance team, you will support the financial management of the business, including forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, financial modeling, and reporting.
You will work closely with senior business leaders in a fast-paced environment to drive key decision-making across operations, strategic initiatives, and resource planning.
You will be a critical member of a lean Finance team, driving impactful results for a growth-stage company with a killer product backed by top investors.
What You'll Do Own the budgeting and forecasting process, including the preparation of management discussion and analysis at the close of each month.Refine internal financial reporting packages, highlighting growth drivers and performance relative to plan.Partner with the Business Operations team to build and maintain driver-based revenue models and track KPIs.Drive analysis and modeling for growth and strategic initiatives.Develop insightful findings, provide recommendations, and help facilitate decision-making processes for our leadership team and cross-functional teams.Drive the preparation of ad hoc financial analysis for Board presentations, weekly/monthly business reviews, etc.Partner with accounting on monthly close, annual audit, and implementation of new systems and processes to evolve the company from a start-up to a public-ready organization.Build and maintain detailed financial projections in support of our annual operating plan, long-range strategic plan, and periodic forecasts.Identify ways to improve forecasting, constantly refining the approach over time.Support any ad-hoc and other financial analyses as necessary.Who You Are Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with formidable attention to detail, possessing strong interpersonal communication skills.Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA a plus.3+ years of experience in a finance/strategy role at a tech company and/or progressive finance experience at a top management consulting firm, investment bank, private equity/VC fund.High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving, utilizing financial modeling, including advanced Excel skills.Comfortable in unstructured or previously undefined situations, using data to draw conclusions and build models from scratch to drive action in unexplored/new strategic areas.Strong working knowledge of GAAP to act as liaison with the Accounting team.Financial planning software experience is a plus (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Planning).Interest in joining a lean team within a growth-stage company where you will help shape our culture and values.Passion for the professional community Instawork is serving, and desire to help blue-collar workers earn money and lead better lives.Ability to work collaboratively to drive cross-functional execution on business goals, with a high level of genuine curiosity about our business and an eagerness to learn.For CA based applicants:The base salary for this position is $135,000 - $160,000.This position is eligible for equity in the form of stock options.This position is eligible for Instawork benefits, including:A variety of medical, dental, and vision plans with coverage beginning on the date of hire.Flexible paid time off.At least 8 paid company holidays annually.Home office stipend.Phone stipend.Commuter stipend.Supplemental pay on qualified leaves.Employee health savings accounts (HSA) contribution.Flexible spending plans.401K plan.Perkspot - discount program through Lumity.A variety of factors are considered when determining someone's compensation including a candidate's professional background, experience, and location.
