We've been building critical behind-the-scenes infrastructure for record-setting footwear and apparel merchants since 2010, specializing in e-commerce for high-demand products that sell out quickly due to popularity or limited availability.
How we workWe are a small and efficient remote team, currently consisting of nine members, with team members located in New York, San Francisco, and the United Kingdom. We steer clear of office politics and aim to minimize interruptions and meetings. Our primary modes of communication are Slack and video chats when necessary. We manage our repositories on GitHub and utilize Jira for ticket and sprint management.
Who we are looking forWe are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Front-end Engineer to join our remote development team, ideally based in the New York region. Your primary focus will be on front-end development for a large Shopify theme, a static site, and other internal tools for a fashion brand owned by a publicly traded company.
Role & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain high-quality, responsive, and scalable web applications.Refactor front-end Shopify Themes.Develop automated testing using Cypress.Translate UI/UX designs into functional and accessible front-end code.Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, and scalability.Identify and troubleshoot performance and usability issues.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies, tools, and best practices.Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.Complete JIRA tickets and participate in weekly dev standups.Occasional in-person meetings (for NYC-based team members).Technical Requirements5+ years of front-end development experience.Shopify Theme and API expertise.Sanity CMS expertise.Knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes.Experience with responsive and mobile-first design principles.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Knowledge of Cypress or other component testing tools.Knowledge of accessibility standards and techniques.What we're offeringFull time or part time job opportunity (6 to 12 month contract)Competitive pay based on experienceHow to applyPlease email ****** with the subject line "Front-end Engineer".
