Senior Fund Manager - Family Medicine

Description The Department of Family Medicine is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Fund Manager. Reporting to the Department Chair, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and other key departmental leaders, the Senior Fund Manager will play a crucial role in managing post-award administration for research funding secured by Departmental Principal Investigators (PIs). . This role involves analyzing and resolving a wide range of issues, often collaborating with other research administrative personnel. In this role, you will oversee complex proposals, in the realm of grants and contracts, which may involve budgeting, multiple investigators, and sub-awards. This includes organizing, planning, and maintaining fiscal oversight of contracts, grants, gifts, endowments, and privately funded projects supporting faculty research programs. Furthermore, you will offer expert guidance and support on research administration matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing valuable assistance to both principal investigators and department administrators. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of research initiatives within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Annual range: $68,800-$141,100

Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent experience. High School Diploma. 5+ years of research administration experience. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with various stakeholders. Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet programmatic and financial needs. Close attention to detail in a fast-paced, fluctuating workload environment. Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel. Strong writing skills in a variety of styles to draft persuasive text for a variety of audiences while ensuring adherence to funding sponsor's guidelines. Demonstrated knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques. Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting. Preferred: Experience preparing, managing, and projecting budgets. Mathematical skills for the preparation of complex calculations and forecasts and to identify and resolve complicated financial scenarios. Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors, federal and state sponsors, private foundations, industry sponsors, etc. Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively. Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize job functions, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with multiple proposal submission systems.
