About the role The Senior Geologist Mine role offers an exceptional opportunity to inspire a team to safely ensure geological confidence in our ore extraction at RLO. As a leader of the Mine Geology team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety, grade control and communication of geological information to various stakeholders to meet our operational objectives. The position will be on a 5 days on / 2 days off / 4 days on / 3 days off roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. Key result areas in this role include: Ensure geology mine team members are working safely by providing adequate training and conducting risk assessments on all team tasks.Develop goals and objectives for team members and conduct performance evaluations on all direct reports at mid-year and year end.Responsible for reviewing site plans (Budget, Monthly, Weekly forecasts) and aligning priorities to ensure the safe execution of the plan.Have a strong understanding of the grade control data required to create accurate geological models and understand associated geological risk.Provide guidance on the material (ore/waste) movement throughout the operation by monitoring the distribution of RFID (radio frequency identification) tags.Ensure grade control diamond drilling is designed and scheduled, and quality data is being collected, approved, and used to update geological models.Oversee the communication of geological data to engineering and resource departments to be used for mine planning and resource estimation.Mentor/train geologists on 3D geological modelling and updates of local block models.About you As the Senior Geologist Mine you will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
