The Senior Healthy Living Director is responsible for the growth and success of all healthy living programs and services at the Family Centers - with a specific emphasis in personal training, wellness, and group exercise.
The Senior Healthy Living Director is a leader, mentor, teacher, and supervisor to all staff in the healthy living arena.
S/he is responsible for upholding service and engagement best practices by developing their teams while aggressively expanding the Y's impact through revenue generating programs.
Essential Functions / Job Duties: Ensures revenue expectations and budgeted bottom line for Healthy Living Departments are met.
Supervises Healthy Living Director (or GEX Direct or depending on Y), Healthy Living Specialists, Group Exercise Instructors and Personal Trainers, including: hiring, developing, coaching, evaluating, managing performance, etc.
along with coordinating schedules shifts, classes, and personal training appointments.
Meets all assigned program enrollment, retention and quality benchmarks by marketing and promoting the Personal and Small Group Training Programs.
Supervises the new member orientation process, ensuring member s are connected at point of sale and remain well-engaged during the program.
Develops and implement innovative, high quality, member-focused programs to serve the needs of the local membership base.
Actively serves on the Association Healthy Living Team, helping to share and create best practices throughout the YMCA of South Florida.
Works with Family Center Leadership Team to address any member concerns and ensure high scores on member satisfaction surveys and/ or secret shop reports.
Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees, as assigned.
Develops and maintain s effective working relationships with the community.
Inspects equipment regularly and ensure that fitness area and equipment is cleaned and maintained appropriately in accordance the YMCA of South Florida standards.
Ensures that the wellness floor, personal and small group training programs follow the program standards, policies, and guidelines of the YMCA of South Florida, as well as state and local codes.
Immediately reports to the Executive Director any injurie s. Complete appropriate documentation and send documentation to association office within 24 hours.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities / Position Requirements:
Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Human Services, Recreation, Business preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 years of proven success in a supervisory role in the health and fitness industry, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of P&L responsibilities over a budget of at least $300,000.
Bilingual, English and Spanish, a plus.
Required Certificates, Trainings and Licenses: Required current professional certifications: CPR/AED, First Aid, PT Certification {ACE, NASM, ACSM, and NSCA).CPR may be attained within first 30 days ofProfessional Certifications may be attained within first 90 days of hire.
OSHA Training for hazardous materials within 90 days of hire.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening. As a Drug-Free Workplace, all new hires must successfully complete a drug test.
