SUMMARY: The Senior HR Generalist, under the direction of the HR Director, run the daily functions of the HR department including hiring, recruitment activities, onboarding, new hire orientation and training,FMLA administration, HR administration, benefits administration, exit and offboarding, employee and manager inquires, and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include but are not limited to the following:
•Oversee the hiring process; full cycle recruitment and retention.
Collaborate and partner with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
•Conduct or coordinate pre-employment checks; drug screening, background checks, aptitude tests, and other required eligibility verifications.
•Responsible for onboarding, new hire orientation and training.
•Assist in implementing, managing, and maintaining the HRIS and ATS systems.
•Respond to unemployment claims and research/prepare for DOL hearings.
•Review and approve all lower-level Corrective Action Plans before they are administered to employees.
•Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
•Process termination/resignations, including exit interviews and offboarding steps.
•Benefits/insurance administration, including short and long-term disability and FMLA.
•Assist with the employee bonus and annual performance review tracking.
•Ensure compliance with all federal and state statutes regarding HR functions.
•Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints.
•Work closely with the HR Director on implementing employee recognition programs and employee engagement activities.
•Responsible for updating the HR related tabs on the employee intranet.
•Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
•Manage and track employee transfers and promotions, ensuring compliance with SOC-1, URAC, and other auditing entities.
•Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
•Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
•College Degree or equivalent experience (4 years).
•3 years of progressive human resources generalist experience.
•HR certification or pursuit of certification, preferred.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
•Proficiency with the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and ATS.
•Organized, attention to detail, multi-task and the ability to prioritize workload.
•Good verbal and written communication skills.
•Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
•Professional demeanor and good rapport with employees at all job levels.
