About this Role:
At BlackRock SMA Solution we obsess with our clients: we put them front and central to everything we do.
The focus of this role is to contribute to BlackRock codebase and collaborate with users to identify their needs and help them be more efficient.
Our platform is called Arya and is based on microservices architecture with our web application being the interface with users.
The web application is built using React, so you can expect a lot of JavaScript (and more specifically Typescript) programming.
We practice agile software development and work in two-week sprints.
This role will work closely with all other members of our technology team as well as members of our project management team and end users.
The role is perfectly suited for a true full stack developer that enjoys working on user facing (front end) part of the tech stack.
Key Responsibilities: Build robust and maintainable web based user interfaces that also provide a delightful user experienceFully own feature development, from adding features to the front-end of our web applications to adding capabilities in microservices to adding structures in relational databaseDesign and develop (parts of) microservices ecosystem that provides functionality for equity portfolio construction tools for direct indexingSupport building and releasing software components and deploying them to k8s clusterProvide continuous improvements to our enterprise fintech platform through modernization of current components and choice of contemporary technologies and enterprise third party componentsWrite code that is easily understood and maintainable by other team membersTake a lead role on projects and initiativesMentor and help to grow junior members of the teamKeep up to date with developments in technologies we are usingActively participate in recruitment effortsQualifications: Advanced knowledge of web development, with a deep understanding of the JavaScript ecosystemStrong understanding of web front-end technologies (React/Angular/Vue), application architecture, and ways of integrating them with other parts of software ecosystemsSolid knowledge of programming fundamentals - algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and paradigmsFive-plus years' experience in a similar roleExperience leading projects and teamsSeasoned Python background or related experience with modern object-oriented languages (Java, Scala, etc.)
