Join the power movement as a Senior Manager, Fusion Gas Facility Operations The SPARC fuel cycle is nearing completion and preparing to transition from receipt of equipment into a commissioned and operational integrated system. We are looking for a senior manager, experienced in operations of plants (vacuum, gas, biotech, power) to join the team. The senior manager will be responsible for building the fuel cycle operations team to meet the needs of SPARC's early campaigns and transition into routine operations. The senior manager will report to the Director of Fueling and Tritium Systems and closely partner with the SPARC operations team. The senior manager will be trained to work in a tritium facility with the support of the director and experienced tritium operators on the team.
\n What you'll do:Responsible for the operations of the SPARC tritium facility: staffing, hiring, budgeting, resourcingAccountable for operating procedures, management of hazards, ensuring training is available and completed for all staffCommunicate with the Operations leads and Director of Fueling and Tritium SystemsBuilding a scalable operations team and training program that can train teams on SPARC and scale to ARCsManage the fuel cycle operators and transition SPARC from commissioning to operations.Onboard direct reports to the team or integrated product team members to the teamGive and receive feedback to always continue improving culture and workDemonstrate CFS values and coach others on when and how to use those values in decision makingChallenge assumptions and ensure work meets the appropriate level of rigorHold team accountable to their work plansReport up to director, down to team from supervisor meetings, and across as needed to build an integrated culture that can support the successful execution of FUEL operations in support of SPARC What we're looking for:Bachelors degree or similar experience in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physical chemistry, applied physics, materials science8+ years of experience in industry with a track record of excellence 2+ years of experience managing a team of operators2+ years of experience running operations or equivalent4+ years of working in managementExperience working with hazardous fluids/gasesUnderstanding of any of the following: vacuum pumps, thermal systems, scrubber systems, electrolyzers, semiconductor gas distribution plant systems, chemistry and analytical systemsAbility to execute a safety culture with an appropriate assessment of risk and hazard managementProficient in writing, reviewing, and approving proceduresA mindset biased towards efficiency and building a culture of continuous improvementAbility to identify and run problems to groundAbility to work collaboratively with a broad set of stakeholdersCare to detail, maintenance of records, and ability to build an organized operations teamFlexibility and willingness to challenge and be challenged Bonus points: Experience working on tritium systems (will be trained)Confluence, JIRA toolsMS project or equivalent Essential Requirements: Perform extended activities such as stooping, climbing, typing, standing, sitting, etc.Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call regularlyWork in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics#LI-Onsite
