Summary: VES is looking for a Senior Manager Global Procurement to join our team in our Kingwood location. The Senior Manager of Global Procurement directs and coordinates activities of the Purchasing operations and aids the Vice President of Global Supply Chain in formulating and administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and implement the company's procurement strategies to align with business goals.Establish procurement policies and procedures to optimize purchasing efficiency.Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and supplier diversity.Monitor market trends to anticipate changes in pricing, availability, and lead times.Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors globally.Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best terms, including price, quality, and delivery.Develop performance metrics and conduct regular supplier performance evaluations.Implement strategies for supplier risk management and business continuity planning.Optimize procurement processes to reduce costs, improve cycle times, and enhance efficiency.Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal policies related to procurement.Lead cost-reduction initiatives and track cost-saving opportunities.Partner with internal stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, logistics, etc.) to align procurement activities with project needs.Lead cross-functional teams to address supply chain challenges and optimize inventory levels.Drive continuous improvement projects related to supply chain and procurement.Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing procurement team.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning within the procurement department.Assess and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions and geopolitical factors.Develop contingency plans for critical suppliers and manage inventory levels to minimize disruptions.Utilize data analytics to drive procurement decisions, track performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.Generate regular reports and presentations on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for executive leadership.Leverage procurement software and ERP systems for data-driven decision-making.Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in procurement.Drive innovation within the procurement function to enhance value creation for the organization.Lead initiatives to digitalize procurement processes and adopt automation tools.Health, Safety and Environment Responsibility: Comply with the requirements of the Health, Safety and Environment System, apply the Varel International Policy to its activities to achieve the effectiveness and continuous improvement of production and administrative processes, in addition to leading and actively participating in training activities in the different processes and applying the concepts communicated.Education and/or Experience: Minimum 7 years of purchasing experience.A bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a closely related field.Knowledge of purchasing principles and processes.
