Client is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Quality Assurance to lead quality assurance initiatives within its Electronic Warfare Division of Space and Airborne Systems (SAS). This leadership role involves managing quality operations across two major manufacturing sites and supervising a team of approximately 37 quality personnel, including 13 direct reports.
The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance will drive strategic and tactical quality initiatives, ensure compliance with industry standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and defect prevention. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Program Leadership, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee Quality Engineering and Inspection functions, ensuring compliance with company procedures, government standards, and industry methodologies.Develop and implement strategic quality initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and mission success.Drive continuous improvement in product quality, delivery, and cost while promoting a defect-free culture.Collaborate with program teams to ensure alignment of quality practices throughout the product lifecycle, including design reviews and production transitions.Maintain and analyze quality records, ensuring data integrity for internal and external customer reporting.Lead compliance efforts for AS9100, CMMI, and other certifications, ensuring adherence to industry standards.Monitor key quality metrics, such as the Cost of Poor Quality, and implement strategies to improve yield and reduce rework.Manage Work Package Descriptions for Quality tasks in proposals and ongoing contracts.Provide leadership, training, and process improvements to enhance team efficiency.Qualifications – Required:Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering, or equivalent technical field.A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or 10 years with a graduate degree.At least 5 years of experience in Quality management or operations leadership.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.Preferred Skills:In-depth knowledge of quality and reliability methods for hardware and software systems in the aerospace or electronics industry.Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification with proven experience in leading and implementing projects.Familiarity with configuration control management practices.Experience with Agile Oracle, Windchill, Cincom, or DOORS software suites.Knowledge of J-STD and IPC standards.ASQ certification.Experience managing AS9100-certified businesses.Active or eligible TS security clearance.Work Requirements and Travel:Occasional travel (up to 20%) to the manufacturing sites in Clifton, NJ, and Van Nuys, CA.
