About the Role We are looking for an experienced and creative Senior Marketing Manager to lead our Experiential Marketing team and elevate GU Energy Labs' presence through impactful experiential marketing initiatives.
The Senior Marketing Manager - Experiential role is responsible for strategizing, planning, and executing dynamic brand experiences and activations that resonate with our target audiences at races, trade shows, and community events.
As a key member of the Marketing team, this role is ultimately responsible for driving brand awareness, increasing engagement, and deepening loyalty among new and core consumers.

As a team leader, this role also supports the growth of individuals on the team with clear direction, feedback, and professional development support.

This is a hybrid role with weekly in-office work from our Berkeley HQ required.
This role also requires approximately 30% travel to attend events nationwide.

You are excited about this opportunity because you will: Oversee the creation and execution of brand experience strategy to reach and resonate with new and core consumers. Innovate new ways for consumers to experience the GU brand. Negotiate contracts in the best interest of GU to tactically complete the long-term goals of your strategy. Lead the planning and execution of experiential marketing campaigns that align with GU's larger company goals, including in-person events such as race sponsorships, trade shows, or community activations. Align all experiential marketing campaign efforts and event participation to specific company goals; develop, implement, and measure the success of marketing programs and events. Collaborate cross-functionally with the Director of Community & Purpose to ensure GU purpose work is incorporated into brand experience strategy.
Collaborate with Sr Marketing Manager to ensure consistency in campaign execution across marketing touchpoints. Collaborate with People & Culture Department on internal GU events, ensuring the brand and company show up for employees the way we do for consumers. Bring out the best in your team by establishing an effective team structure, clearly articulating and delegating responsibilities, and stoking their learning and development.
Develop your team's professional growth; inspiring, coaching, and leading by example. Drive sustainability & DE+I efforts at every opportunity. We are excited about you because you have/are: Minimum 5 years of experience of successive growth in marketing leadership roles, including managing direct reports. Experience creating and implementing experiential marketing strategies, building and refining processes, and measuring impact. Experience negotiating contracts on behalf of an organization to be mutually beneficial to all parties. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including expense management and budgeting. Clear and confident strategic project management experience with complex schedules and the organizational skills needed to set and drive requirements across multiple functional areas. Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Self-motivated and directed, requiring minimal supervision for assignment completion. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
