We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mathematician III to join our Electro-Optic Technology Division, a leader in providing comprehensive support for military and national security Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) and laser systems. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in mathematics, statistics, and analysis to support a wide range of projects within the division, focusing on areas such as demand forecasting, risk management, and optimization of product support and logistics. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our services to the warfighter across various branches including the Navy, USMC, Air Force, and SOCOM.
\n ResponsibilitiesDemand Forecasting: Develop and refine mathematical models to accurately forecast demand for EO/IR systems and components, aiding in efficient resource allocation.Risk Management: Implement statistical methods to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the lifecycle support of EO/IR and laser systems.Statistical Modeling and Simulations: Create sophisticated statistical models and simulations to support decision-making processes, focusing on improving reliability and performance.Data Mining and Trend Analysis: Conduct in-depth data mining to uncover trends and perform comprehensive trend analysis, contributing to long-term strategic planning.Risk Assessments: Perform detailed risk assessments to evaluate potential impacts on project timelines, budgets, and outcomes, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies.Reliability Models: Apply expertise in the AMSAA Reliability Growth Assessment Process or similar models to enhance system reliability and predict future performance.Lean Six Sigma Projects: Lead Lean Six Sigma projects to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency across the division.Analytical Support for Product Support & Logistics. Required QualificationsBachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) in a related field with 10 years of experience in the areas specified above.Demonstrated capability in conducting comprehensive mathematical analyses, including but not limited to business case analyses, cost/benefit tradeoff studies, market surveys, and total ownership cost initiatives.Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent professional certification in statistics is desired.Active Secret Clearance Required. Preferred QualificationsBachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) in a related field with 15 years of experience in mathematics or a related discipline.Extensive experience in demand forecasting, risk management, statistical modeling, data mining, and risk assessments. Proficiency in the AMSAA Reliability Growth Assessment Process or similar reliability models.Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent professional certification in statistics highly desired.
