ispace Technologies U.S. is seeking a highly motivated, talented, and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its team.
\n Key ResponsibilitiesRapidly design, develop and test a highly reliable structural and/or mechanical lander system(s)Evaluate and develop structural/mechanical architecture and requirements, ensuring manufacturability is a priorityDrive component design and selection as well as system verification testing, troubleshooting and requirement(s) closureCollaborate with software, hardware, supply chain and integration teamsCreate and manage supplier procurement specifications and statements of workOther duties as assigned Required Skills/ExperienceBS in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or robotics . We will consider an equivilant combination of relevant education and/or experience. 10+ years of experience in the design of space applications and/or ground support equipmentProven track record of leading design development from concept through fabrication, testing and integrationKnowledgeable about mechanical design, material selection, and fabrication processes for spaceflight hardwareHas extensive experience with FEM software packagesHas knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T)Familiarity with project management tools, including Atlassian Preferred Skills/Experience Proficiency in Solidworks, FEmap, NASTRAN (or equivalent) software packagesExperience with complex spacecraft design and integrationDesign-for-manufacturing experienceKnowledgeable of space environmental testsExperience with common industry standards for spacecraft structural and mechanical design, test and integration; including, but not limited to, NASA-STD-5001, NASA-STD-5017, NASA-STD-5020 & SMC-S-016  Additional RequirementsAbility to work in a fast-paced design and development environmentSchedule may vary depending on program development needs; flexibility requiredWillingness to travel domestically and internationally as required Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive salary based upon experience - $135,000-180,000. The salary posted is a targeted range for budget of position.? Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.Medical/vision/dental health benefits (Some 100% company paid options available for employee only)? Hybrid work schedule Company-paid public transportation on RTD buses and?light rail (RTD EcoPass)? Paid vacation (18 days), Sick days (6 days), Holidays (14 paid holidays) 401(k)
