This role will require an individual who is safety driven and safety conscious, and capable of working with a diverse team of Mine and Exploration geologists, technical services staff, geological technicians, diamond drillers (supervisors, helpers, and drillers) and mine operations personnel.The selected applicant will be an integral member of the Mineral Resource Management team, tasked to plan, manage, and execute mine geological activities including drilling, mapping, sampling, reconciliation, and production control.This role will require an individual who is safety driven and safety conscious, and capable of working with a diverse team of geologists, technical services staff, underground/open pit operations personnel, and diamond drillersResponsibilities:Promote and ensure a safe work environment and a safety-conscious workforce. Assure that the highest environmental standards are incorporated within each area of responsibility. Proven commitment to technical excellence and industry best practices. Training, supervision and mentoring of technical staff. Support the Mining Department to optimize the extraction of the mineral reserves. Supervise the collection and validation of geological data such as mapping, sampling methods, and drill hole logging. Ensure continued improvement of spatial and timely reconciliation to the mine-to-mill production process. Oversee to the planning of Ore Control and Mineral Resource Growth drilling programs. Generate and submission of budgets, forecasts, and schedules. Developing and presenting program proposals. Design high-quality diamond drill hole plans running through best practice standards. Oversee logging core and reporting on program results, including quantifying program success. Generation of new targets for additions to support the mineral resource growth and LOM. Exposure to a wide variety of exploration, geology, data analysis, and grade estimation scenarios with opportunities for increased responsibilities and career growth Contribute to evolving and progressing of interpretations and modeling of the controls on gold mineralization. Carrying out and supervising of surface and underground geological mapping. Other geological and supervisor duties as assigned. Audit and optimize technical procedures with a focus on continuous improvement. Qualifications:Minimum 5 years' experience underground operations environment Demonstrated proficiency with mining software. Experience with Vulcan, Deswik, and Leapfrog would be considered an asset. Prioritization, organization, and analytical planning skills. Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles and a demonstrated knowledge of Canadian/American Engineering standards Strong presentation and verbal skills. Able to communicate ideas and recommendations in both written and verbal forms across all levels of the organization in a clear manner. Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy Excellent organizational, time management, and office management skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently. Capability to self-manage and self-motivate. Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
