Ignite Consults is hiring a Hybrid Senior Network Architect on a Six-month temp-to-hire basis who will design, install, and manage the Access, Distribution, and Core layers of the Client Network infrastructure. This position will manage the connectivity for the Wide Area Network (WAN) and design, install, and manage connections between the Client's network and partner agencies. The position will manage the Client's connections to the Internet and implement, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and monitor the network environment. This position will be primary on network segmentation and security.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Install, configure, and maintain Access layer Ethernet switches for the Local Area Networks (LANs) in the downtown campus, datacenters, and remote locations.
Design and implement fault-tolerant star topologies for the LANs. Use Virtual LAN (VLAN) technologies to make the most efficient use of available network ports.
Install, configure, and maintain all Distribution and Core layer routers/switches at multiple buildings and offices.
Install, configure, and maintain all Data Center routers/switches/load balancers.
Manage route advertisement between all Client routers via OSPF and BGP protocols.
Manage the leased Ethernet and fiber connectivity for the Client's Wide Area Network (WAN).
Design, implement, and manage all the Client's Wi-Fi networks (802.11x).
Install, configure, and manage the Client's network firewalls.
Install, configure, and manage remote access into the Client's network using Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies.
Install, configure, and manage the authentication software (RADIUS) for VPN and Wi-Fi networks.
Install, configure, and maintain network management software to proactively monitor all layer two (2) and layer three (3) network devices.
When requested, assist other Client IT personnel in troubleshooting application performance issues and errors. This is usually done by performing a packet trace and analyzing the output.
Provide research and development of new products related to improving network availability, performance, and mobility. Test new technologies and develop Client's standards for network equipment and protocols. Seek approval of these proposed standards from the Client's IT Technical Committee.
Install, configure, and maintain Cisco ISE for network security and segmentation.
YOU SHOULD HAVE:
Bachelor's degree majoring in an Information Technology related field
plus
six (6) full-time years' experience in Layer 2 or Layer 3 Network Infrastructure.
Hands-on advanced working knowledge of the information technology tools and environments currently in use and/or planned for use in the near future for support of Client's networks.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Security) certification or higher professional certificate required.
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification preferred.
