The Capital Innovation Lab (CIL) leads the product innovation for the team, developing new investment strategies via pilots, investment programs, and initiatives.CIL fuels the pipeline of economic opportunity for underinvested communities, with the specific goals of improving access to capital for diverse entrepreneurs, equitable economic development, health, and sustainability.This role will support the Director, Capital Innovation Lab with multiple national and place-based pilot projects, focused on small businesses and supplier diversity, worth more than $25M raised and ready to be invested. Specifically, this position supports the small business deal pipeline in deploying small business growth capital, from origination and sourcing to underwriting through closing.ResponsibilitiesThe following are an indication of the position's core responsibilities; these are intended to illustrate the scope of responsibilities and are not exclusive of other duties that may be required.· Lead Origination for multiple small business investment programs, including developing strategies for producing quality investment leads· Review applications to identify small businesses for investment· Coordinate potential deals through early structuring and handoff to underwriters, including assisting in underwriting prospective deal· Lead big-picture process improvement projects· Onboard and train new analysts· Organize investment committees, including preparing documents, ensuring the right people are in the room, and adhering to established protocols· Assist with investor/donor relations and reporting· Accurately track all deal data in Salesforce and other systems as needed· Perform all other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Applicants should have the following qualifications:· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or relevant related work experience· Minimum five (5) years in banking, finance, or community development· Demonstrated experience with underwriting and/or sourcing small business deals· Effective communication, analytical, decision-making, time management, organizational, follow-up and relationship management skills· Initiative-taker, ability to work independently as well as collaboratively· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel (experience with VLookups)· Proficiency in Salesforce and Smart Sheets preferredCOMPENSATION:LISC offers a competitive salary ($81,600 - $127,500; salary commensurate with relevant work experience and location)and excellent fringe benefits. This position is expected to travel less than once per month, up to 20% annually.
