JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Power Platform Engineer will be critical in designing, managing, and optimizing the Microsoft Power Platform environment within the Department of Treasury's IRS. This position requires advanced PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI expertiseand strong system engineering skills to ensure seamless integration across Microsoft 365 services. The engineer will enhance organizational productivity by supporting the implementation of secure, compliant, innovative Power Platform solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Power Platform Development and Administration:
Develop and manage PowerApps model-driven and canvas applications.
Design, configure, and maintain workflows using Power Automate.
Create and manage Power BI dashboards for data visualization and reporting.
Integration and Optimization:
Assist in designing and implementing Power Platform environments and pipelines.
Customize SharePoint lists and integrate disparate systems with PowerApps.
Apply and configure data connectors while establishing enterprise policies.
Governance and Compliance:
Maintain user permissions, data retention policies, and compliance settings.
Implement and enforce security measures, including audit logging solutions.
Support integration with AvePoint Online Services for enhanced governance.
Technical Support:
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Power Platform components.
Provide end-user support for PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI tools.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Collaborate with IT teams for integration with Teams, SharePoint Online, and Exchange Online.
Provide bi-weekly and monthly status reports summarizing deliverables, risks, and action items.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The project focuses on enhancing the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) efficiency, collaboration, and productivity by managing and optimizing its comprehensive M365 cloud environment. This initiative involves integration, administration, and technical support for key platforms, including Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate), SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Exchange Online, Microsoft Copilot, and AvePoint Online Services.
The team of contractors will provide expertise in areas such as governance, security, compliance, and system optimization to ensure seamless functionality and user experience. Tasks include implementing organizational change management, developing modernized processes, and introducing best practices tailored to IRS needs. This project also aims to address critical activities such as data protection through Purview, PowerShell scripting for automation, and resolving high-priority technical incidents across the cloud suite.
Deliverables include transitioning into the project with detailed documentation and plans, providing ongoing technical and operational support, and ensuring a smooth knowledge transfer and service continuity during the project's conclusion. The overarching goal is to align M365 tools and services with the IRS's strategic objectives to foster innovation, streamline workflows, and maintain robust data security and compliance measures across the organization.
