The Senior Principal Microelectronics Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the tasks outlined below:
Process Development
Developing and maintaining manufacturing processes in an automated, high volume production environment
Creating and managing to project plans (tasks, resources, schedules) for process development activities
Providing ROI justification for process improvements
Specifying, identifying and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness and preparing equipment for production
Developing and optimizing process parameters
Developing/revising process documentation and work instructions
Assisting with design of custom tooling
Factory Support
Monitoring process yields and cost, recommending and implementing quality improvements based on these metrics
Creating, validating and maintaining automatic equipment programs
Solving of manufacturing problems (related to materials, designs, equipment, people) in a timely manner
Assisting with the training of new personnel and participating in the design of operator training materials
Supporting factory maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of process equipment
Working in cross functional teams to execute RCCAs and lean initiatives
Interfacing with equipment vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Design Support
Recommending product design improvements required to produce advanced microelectronics products
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Engineer:
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM degree, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience (7 years with a Masters)
Microelectronic Pick and Place experience
Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience
Fluency in MS Office software applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with J-STD and MIL-STD hardware requirements
Familiarity with BESI/Datacon Epoxy Dispense Chip Mount
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with Lean/Six Sigma process improvement
Experience with the design or manufacturing of microelectronics technology and materials

Salary Range:

$127,000 - $190,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
