UPchieve product managers are both strategic thinkers and hands-on builders.
While you'll spend much of your time analyzing experiments and business cases, you'll dust off your engineering skills to pinch-hit when it's time to ship.
We're looking for a PM-engineer hybrid to help us crack one of the most critical problems in edtech: building sustainable school partnerships.
In this role, you'll develop and test ways to engage students in schools, clearing sales and success blockers while exploring channels for integrating academic support like classrooms and school programs.
Given our early stage, you'll shape both our product's direction and team's culture.
Think startup energy, nonprofit purpose.
Come put your name on every corner of the world's best tutoring platform for low-income students!
This might be the right job for you if... You obsess over our users' needs, and you'd chase our mission elsewhere if not here
You're a PM who codes or an engineer who spreadsheets.
You love getting your hands dirty making real things.
You think in complete user experiences, mapping how multiple features work together to drive behavior change and hit ambitious goals
You're scrappy.
You dig in and figure it out with what you've got.
Like in a good game of Risk, you play multiple angles at once and use data, decision trees, and experiments to know when to commit
What you'll do Deeply understand educator needs through user research and data analysis
Own school and student activation KPIs, mapping out multiple viable product directions to hit our goals
Cultivate a portfolio of creative ideas with promising business cases that fit those product directions
Get your hands dirty as an engineer, writing code to prototype, test, and ship those ideas
Run and analyze experiments to validate which ideas actually drive your goals
Go to market and scale your successful experiments, helping with everything from technical architecture and implementation to user support and staff training
Work with prospects to understand their needs and shape technical solutions that sell and scale
Preferred ExperienceHere are some experiences we think would make a candidate, but they aren't the only things that could do that.
You don't need to check all the boxes to apply. Has 5+ years of product management experience, including working directly with engineers and designers
Thrives in a startup environment with minimal structure
Can demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Has shipped multiple successful products or features from zero to one
Has experience with marketplace dynamics and/or education technology
Has experience with user research and usability testing
Has experience with rapid experimentation, statistics, and data-driven decision-making
Has a personal connection to our mission through experience, family, or by other proximity (e.g., grew up low-income, taught in a Title I school, etc.
