Avocor is seeking a Senior Product Manager to support the product management team, existing product lines as well as championing the next generation of interactive solutions.
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for researching, understanding, and communicating the needs of the end-users, as well as making recommendations for product enhancement and improvement.
The primary accountability will be to develop the product roadmap, set requirements and manage the implementation into the End to End Line Planning processes.
Background or familiarity in the A/V space, a high degree of technical aptitude, along with prior experience in product management will make you the ideal candidate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work under the direction of the VP of Product Development and determine product vision, positioning and direction, ensuring alignment to company strategy and vision.Responsible for analyzing and monitoring business opportunities, market trends, sales performance, competitive landscape and other research information to make informed and justified recommendations, such as new opportunities, service improvements and cost reductions.Define and manage project success criteria.Effectively and timely communicate product status, key issues and launch plans to all relevant parties on an ongoing basis.Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.Identify necessary reports, metrics and analysis to measure the effectiveness and validate the success of completed projects.Manage select products on an ongoing basis, including product line extensions and enhancements, forecasting, end-of-life planning and related activities.Ownership of Product Management department processes, documents and reporting.Interact and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define product definition documents, product enhancement, go-to-market strategy and drive the product life cycle.Work closely with the Product Marketing, Marketing and Sales teams around product launch activities, including product positioning, messaging, pricing, promotion, sales strategy, trade shows, customer training and support.QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year BS/BA degree (engineering, business, marketing or other relevant degree).10-12 years of hands-on experience in all facets of product lifecycle required.1-3 years of experience in A/V, IT or Unified Communication industries preferred.Adept at conducting product, price and competitive market research.Ability to manage risks and recommend logical trade-offs.Lead a cross-functional team and drive them to deadlines.An ability to think strategically yet implement at the tactical level.Strong analytical problem solving, product management, organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.Demonstrated ability to be highly organized and timely in the completion of work objectives.Coordination with a key focus on task completion based on schedule.Demonstrated ability to create internal processes.Ability to work with vendors and coordinate schedules.Demonstrated superior written and oral communications skills, with the ability to influence others internally and externally.OTHER SKILLS AND DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES: Willingness and ability to work within a fast-paced environment, and to be self-sufficient while acknowledging the benefit of the larger team.High-energy individual, willing to learn, and take on new tasks as assigned.Positive, team-oriented.Ability to receive constructive criticism and positively address areas of need.Ability and willingness to travel as needed.MISC: Location: Wilsonville, OR.Competitive salary + full benefits package, including medical/vision/dental, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Accident Insurance, FSA, 401(k), PTO and Paid Holidays.
