Overland AI builds intelligent uncrewed ground systems for defense and national security. Our autonomy stack, OverDrive, is defining the state-of-the-art for perception, planning, and control of uncrewed vehicles, enabling them to traverse and operate in any terrain, regardless of roads, in any condition. OverDrive was purpose-built for the warfighter. Through our work with DARPA and the U.S. Army, we are developing the intelligent capabilities necessary to power modern ground operations, now and for decades to come.
In a little over a year, the company has been selected for or awarded eight-figures of OTAs and other contracts across multiple services and DoD customers. We have raised over $10M in funding, led by a top multi-billion dollar AUM defense tech investor.
Role Summary: We're looking for a product management leader to align the product strategy and roadmap for OverDrive, our autonomy stack, with customer needs and market direction.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's vision and DoD requirements.Identify opportunities for value creation within our product by analyzing market drivers, competitor offerings, substitute solutions, and user feedback.Collaborate closely with DoD stakeholders, including end users and requirements and acquisitions professionals to understand their needs, gather requirements, and ensure that product development aligns with government objectives and regulations.Product RoadmapCreate and maintain a detailed product roadmap, outlining key milestones, features, and timelines for product development. Prioritize features and enhancements based on end user feedback, market demand, and strategic objectives.Coordinate communication of milestones internally and externally.Cross-Functional LeadershipIntegrate product roadmap into engineering planning cycles. Partner with engineering leadership to deliver product roadmap features on time and on budget.Unblock engineers on product-related issues. Identify and mitigate risks related to product development, including technical challenges, regulatory hurdles, and market uncertainties. Develop contingency plans and alternative strategies to address potential obstacles and ensure product success.Drive product milestones through sales and marketing launches. Initiate updates to marketing and sales collateral and company messaging.Desired Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or other related field.Experience in product management with autonomous systems or other defense technology.Deep understanding of technical aspects of autonomy software at the system component level.Extensive knowledge of the DoD acquisitions process.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all audiences and influence cross-functionally; exceptional writing and presentation abilities.Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop creative solutions to problems while supporting the success of all team members.Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth market research and communicate results.Ability to obtain a US government security clearance required, active clearance preferred.Location: Preferred location for this position is Seattle, WA. Some travel expected.
