Reporting to the Lead, Integrated Production the Senior Production Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the 24-hour production plan for Red Dog Operation. The role will work with execution, maintenance, and technical teams to support trade-offs and decision making to deal with any variances or non-compliance to plan that occur throughout the shift and ensure that key operating strategies are in place, understood and being effectively followed.
Rotation schedule will be an even rotation, 2 weeks on-site and 2 weeks off-site
Responsibilities: • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Provide day-to-day support to develop, communicate the Shift Plan, including defining special project priorities, supporting In-Shift Coordination with a focus on bottlenecks and enhancing key business outcome (KBO) priorities
• Drive the RDO Variance Response Process to assess and communicate action plans and provide strong support to the execution team to handle variances or non-compliance to plan that occur throughout the shift. Ensure that key operating strategies are in place, understood and being effectively followed
• Responsible for In-Shift Coordination (in-shift trade-off decisions, and plan recovery scenario analysis)
• Define list of tasks to be completed during daily line out for the Execution team
• Attend the short interval control meeting and communicate the plan and support trade-offs
• Communicate variances to plan during integrated targeting meeting
• Communicating information from In-Shift Coordination to Execution and Planning
• Work closely with the planning teams to ensure that variances that occur during the shift are effectively communicated and incorporated into the next planning cycle, as well as incorporate lessons learned from plan execution into future plans to drive continuous improvement of the Mine performance
• Drive communication of site project priorities in collaboration with Execution teams
• Provide coordination and collaborate with Execution, including Mine & Mill Operations and Maintenance to ensure plan priorities are being driven and variance responses are being communicated effectively across teams
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree (Mining, Geosciences or related field) is required
• Minimum five (5) years working in an industrial environment with strong knowledge of mine engineering/ operations
• Highly motivated team player
• Strong communicator, able to communicate clearly and concisely with key stakeholders
• Ability to understand the primary business targets of production plans and to identify the primary inputs of the mining process to achieve those plans
• Able to facilitate and develop strong relationships across site
• Enthusiastic and driven by interacting with other teams
• Able to review and work with data to drive decision making
• Exhibit courageous leadership and bravery in providing strong guidance in a variety of situations
• Efficiently work under high pressure situations and embed effective time management in execution of responsibilities
• Advanced computer skills, particularly spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
