Position: Senior Quantity Surveyors – Water
Location: Shropshire
Salary Guide: £60,000 (Neg DOE) Plus Car/Allowance and Benefits
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, delivering a significant proportion of United Utilities' programme of clean and wastewater non-infrastructure projects throughout the Northwest.
They are looking to strengthen their Commercial team with two Senior Quantity Surveyors for one of their flagship projects located in Shropshire valued at over £100m. You will provide commercial support to the project and ensure that commercial discipline is maintained throughout the delivery of the project.
You will report directly to the MQS, and the responsibilities will include:
Manage a small team of Quantity Surveyors.Ensure contract financial transactions are completed on time and in accordance with contract terms and legislation.Report to the MQS and Commercial Manager on commercial performance & process, procurement issues, and report any areas of concern or opportunity.Resolve all claims and disputes in an amicable and timely fashion, ensuring that subcontractor and supplier payments are expedited.Provide accurate and up-to-date commercial information on a regular basis.Identify contractual risks for management throughout the contract.Financial Reporting – weekly and monthly reviews and cost control/forecasting.Monitor and maintain a positive cash position for the projects.Ensure project teams are administering subcontracts and client contracts in accordance with the terms and conditions.Final account preparation, audit & agreement.Skills, Experience and Qualifications: A comprehensive level of commercial experience, preferably with a contracting organisation.BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction-related discipline.Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical plant and equipment.Preferably chartered.Experience with major high-value projects.Preferably previous water/construction experience.Package includes: Car/car allowance (subject to role and level of position).25 days holiday + Bank Holidays (with an additional 5 days available to buy).Life Assurance.Health Insurance.Private medical Insurance.And many more benefits including – cycle to work scheme, discounts and savings Hub, kids pass, etc.About The Company: Our client is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector.
