GENERAL PURPOSE: Provide pleasant and helpful assistance to visitors and callers to include answering phones, greeting visitors, taking and relaying messages, and performing various general clerical duties.
Perform in a senior level capacity by training inexperienced receptionists and offering assistance with routine job-related issues.
The base pay range for this role is $18.94 - $27.38.
The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location.
The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Answer the Phone console and properly route the calls or provide appropriate information to the caller.
Calls are to be handled expeditiously, in a professional and business-like manner while being friendly and using a high standard of customer service Prioritize calls and escalate customer service issues through the proper routing system Provides back-up phone support through the message center phone.
Take and deliver messages promptly.
Greet visitors, ask them to sign in, issue them a Visitor Badge, and contact the employee the visitor is to see.
Responsible for training receptionists and providing guidance in policies and procedures as it relates to their job.
Pick up newspapers delivered in front of the buildings and label them for pickup Notify employees upon receipt of inbound deliveries or have the delivery made to the Mail Room or Receiving as is appropriate.
Do not allow deliveries to remain in lobby over 3 hours.
If an item is not picked up by then, have the Mail Clerk deliver it on the next Mail Run Give clerical support as directed by the Direct supervisor.
When there is free time, seek out direct supervisor for additional work.
Maintain the lobby in a neat and orderly fashion to include visitor reading materials.
Notify direct supervisor if the janitorial service has not cleaned the area properly Follow other procedures as outlined in the Reception Desk Policies and Procedures handbook as applicable Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor COMPETENCIES: Collaboration Leading by Example Communicates Effectively Ensures Accountability and Execution Manages Conflict Plans, Aligns and Prioritizes QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: 3-5 years of experience as a receptionist in a busy switchboard environment Operate phone console Ability to train inexperienced staff members and direct day to day work activities Type 40 wpm Must have excellent communications and customer service skills Must be flexible to work hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00PM (normally an eight-hour shift) Experience with personal computer and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA: Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires full-time in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
