Independently formulates and executes translational research projects and co-ordinates programs within the area of active research. The role entails leading the research team and develop strategic plans with the Principal Investigator (PI) for project development and implementation, and providing mentorship to junior scientists, research associates, research assistants, residents, fellows, and students. The role requires active collaboration with internal and external experts in the field and develops application for extramural funding.
1.Leads and executes collaborative research projects alongside Principal Investigators (PIs).
2.Designs, oversees, interprets, and coordinates research experiments, offering guidance on scientific methodologies and experimental techniques.
3.Conceptualizes and develops new ideas that advance ongoing research initiatives.
4.Stays current with knowledge, relevant technologies, and systems, introducing new expertise to the research program.
5.Supervises, mentors, and provides leadership to junior scientists, research associates, research assistants, residents, fellows, and students.
6.Prepares and submits peer-reviewed publications and deliver presentations at national/international conferences.
7.Develops and submits grant applications, in collaboration with PI, seeking for Federal (i.e., full indirect rates) and/or Foundation support.
8.Actively collaborates with internal and external field experts to foster interdisciplinary research efforts.
9.Establishes new capabilities within the laboratory environment.
10.Fulfills all compliance obligations pertinent to the position.

Background in cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular/ cell biology, genetics, and signal transduction is required.
