Your Team: This Senior Security Software Engineer will join our Core Platform team, a back-end team functioning as the backbone of our organization, dedicated to crafting and maintaining the fundamental infrastructure and service libraries that drive Seesaw's success. By constructing the foundational layers and systems, they empower rapid and scalable development of exceptional user experiences from our product engineering teams. Additionally, the Core Platform team assumes ownership of critical operational aspects, including security, reliability, compliance, and cost-effectiveness to ensure the seamless operation of Seesaw's platform and cloud infrastructure.
Your Role: Seesaw is seeking an experienced Senior Security Software Engineer to join our Core Platform team. As we continue to expand our international footprint, you will play a key role in achieving and maintaining compliance certifications such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, performing hands-on software engineering work to ensure our security practices align with industry standards. You will directly contribute to improving our product's security posture by working within our core tech stack, and collaborating closely with engineering and product teams on threat modeling, code reviews, and vulnerability assessments, helping to foster a culture of security awareness across the organization. Your expertise in software development, automation of security processes, and enhancing existing security frameworks will be crucial in strengthening our application and cloud security.
Your Responsibilities: As a hands-on software engineer, you'll work directly within our product tech stack to enhance security across the board, providing technical solutions for real-world security challenges and collaborating closely with engineering teams to drive secure development practices.Partner closely with our current Senior Security Software Engineer to achieve and maintain internationally recognized compliance certifications such as SOC2 and ISO27001 by writing secure code and developing engineering practices that ensure alignment with compliance requirements across the platform.Contribute to the security of our platform tech stack by designing and implementing software solutions that proactively identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities across our application, systems, and infrastructure.Partner with engineering and product teams to perform threat modeling, conduct design and code reviews, and assess security implications for the development of new systems and features, as well as remediating vulnerabilities in existing systems.Design, build, and deploy engineering-driven automation to scale application and infrastructure vulnerability discovery across repositories, systems, and microservices, enabling continuous security improvement.Develop and integrate automated security testing tools into the development pipeline to ensure adherence to secure coding practices and validate security controls.Continuously improve our security engineering frameworks, tools, and processes to better secure our applications and infrastructure, ensuring security best practices are baked into the development lifecycle.Your Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of experience in hands-on Software Engineering, with some focus in security engineering/application security.Proven experience in helping to achieve international compliance certifications, like SOC2 and ISO27001, with an understanding of the associated frameworks and requirements.Experience identifying security issues in applications through code review, threat modeling, penetration testing, manually and with tools.Experience improving platform security practices within an AWS infrastructure stack and containerized environments.Experience partnering with cross-functional product/engineering teams, and advising these teams on how to address a broad set of security and privacy challenges.Experience designing, building, implementing, and deploying production-quality systems.Strong knowledge and experience in at least one of the following: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or other similar languages.Nice to Have: Strong understanding and experience with security controls, and common security libraries in languages like Python and Javascript.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, and other general SRE skills.Experience with secure code review, penetration testing, and common security tools.Compensation & Benefits: The annual base salary range for this position is: $165,000 - $195,000 + RSUs.
