Senior, Software Engineer (Android)

Position Summary: This position involves working with the Identity/Profile team responsible for the design, development, and operations of a large-scale orchestration system for managing identity and customer profiles at Walmart.com. The team interacts with multiple departments to provide scalable, robust technical solutions.

What you'll do: Troubleshoot business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information; engage support teams; formulate action plans; direct actions; perform root cause analysis; and complete online documentation. Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects to create high-level designs by collaborating with product management, design, project management, and user experience teams. Develop innovation strategies, processes, and best practices by leading internal technical teams and documenting project scopes. Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer needs, developing business plans, and providing resources. Promote and support company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by training others in their application. What you'll bring: 6+ years of experience as an Android engineer. Expertise in Android Kotlin and Java. Experience in planning, implementing, maintaining, and leading technical projects. Knowledge of caching, logging, performance tuning, and scaling. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle. Familiarity with unit/UI testing best practices. Ability to work in a distributed team and communicate asynchronously. Experience in an agile development team. Willingness to take full responsibility for the product from planning to deployment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GraphQL. Experience in the retail industry. Experience in supporting applications with on-call support during critical business hours. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 3 years of experience in software engineering, or 5 years of experience in software engineering.
