This Software Engineering role will be primarily supporting our new External Engagement Programs group. The mission of the EEP Group is to show the public the current state-of-the-art of robotics and encourage them to engage with our robots via hands-on exhibits. Engineers on the EEP Team will take internal demos from the AI Institute and expand them into fun, dynamic, and educational demos for a broader audience. The EEP Team is seeking diverse, thoughtful, and motivated team members who have experience creating projects. We are onsite in our new Cambridge, Mass. office where we are building a collaborative and exciting new organization. Currently we are looking for senior level software engineers to join the team.
\n What You Will DoTransition research demos into production level software for demonstrations around the worldPromote quality and reliability through regular code reviews What You HaveBS or MS in computer science, robotics or a related field7+ years of experience with C++ or Python in production environmentsExperience with ROS 2 or similar libraries/tools to build robot applicationsExperience with git, issue tracking, CI, and modern software engineering practicesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in an understandable wayAbility to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentStrong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail BonusFlexibility to travel occasionally for events and demonstrationExperience working with a variety of robot platformsExperience working with machine learningExperience with Docker, cloud computing, or similar applications
