Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid, TypeScript + React, San Francisco Bay Area)PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We're not just a platform; we're a trusted partner in venture capital. PROJECT STACK and TEAM: ~ 50 people in a company; Hybrid Model (Employee should be available to attend the office 2-3 times a week). Office in the Financial District San Francisco, Montgomery station. Most of the team is in California, but we also have 2 people in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina. Engineering department: 1 Principal Engineer, 1 DevOps Engineer, 10 Software Engineers.
We are seeking an experienced and skilled senior engineer to join our team. As a senior member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading and guiding junior engineers while contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of our software applications. Our technology stack consists of JavaScript & TypeScript for the front end and back end, PostgreSQL for our database, and we are completely cloud based.
MAIN REQUIREMENTS: At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on programming languages such as JavaScript & TypeScript.At least 5 years of experience working with React.Experience writing unit and E2E tests.Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and guide junior engineers.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues and develop creative solutions.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.GOOD TO HAVE: Experience with developing a component library.Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.Knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as GCP.Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins or Docker.Prior experience working in FinTech.Experience migrating Ruby on Rails application to React.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and build multi-part solutions to story tasks, taking into account risk mitigation and advanced testing processes, including building tests using React Testing Library and Playwright.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and technical support to deliver high-quality software products.Lead and mentor junior engineers in the design, development, and testing of software applications.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our software development processes and products.SUMMARY: Benefits:Health, vision, and dental coverage including flexible spending accounts401(k) benefits upon your date of hireUncapped PTO, and moreEquity (stock options) will be providedPre-tax commuter benefitsFlexible scheduleJob Category: Front-end
