The ideal candidate will take a lead in the creation of software that is deployed as part of various test systems, hardware and software testing environments, and software development platforms. These development and validation systems, hardware, and tools are distributed globally to engineering teams across Ford and our development partners. Projects vary from year to year. Current projects will be used in the ongoing development and testing of the next generation infotainment system, embedded modem, vehicle cloud connectivity, mobile app development & integration testing, as well as multiple additional In-Vehicle Infotainment development projects.
• Support the design, development, and testing of software applications/tools (e.g., Java, JavaScript, HTML5, TypeScript, NodeJS, React, and Angular) used to support IVI hardware and software development and testing engineering teams.
• Design and architect the frontend and backend of an HMI based test tool platform deployed in In-Vehicle Infotainment, HIL, SIL, and MIL simulation environments.
• Assist with architecture and design of the IVI, HIL, SIL, and MIL development and validation environments through appropriate application of necessary hardware components and required software and calibration files.
• Lead systems level integration of software components.
• Gather user requirements and turn them into functional specifications.
• Write requirement-based unit test cases for developed code.
• Troubleshoot and debug defects as reported by users.
• Maintenance/refactoring of existing code base (e.g., Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, React, and Angular).
• Understand and apply industry Software Quality Assurance standards and agile methodologies.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience in developing UI applications using Java, JavaScript, HTML5, TypeScript, NodeJS, React, and Angular
• 5+ years of experience in working with gRPC and webrtc libraries and protocols.
• 5+ years of experience in development using Ethernet communication protocols like TCP/IP, UDP
• 5+ years of experience in using tools and libraries like Wireshark, SOMEIP, and Aracom
• 5+ years of experience of object-oriented programming.
• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design and development
• 5+ years of experience in applying agile development methodologies and tools.
• 5+ years of experience in building binaries from source code and deploying it in various environment and resolving dependencies.
• 3+ years of experience with Agile Scrum development methodologies with common workflow tools (e.g., Confluence, GIT, Jira, Jenkins, TestRail).
Preferred Requirements:
• Master's degree in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in leading the development of cross-platform UI applications using Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, React, and Angular, for the purposes of transmitting signals to hardware such as testbench and rendering video/audio content from IVI hardware.
• 8+ years of experience in working with hardware and simulated environments controlled by CAN/Ethernet communication.
• 8+ years of experience in unit testing and UI automation testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Junit, Selenium, JDK, Cucumber).
• 5+ years of experience in leading engineering development teams and assisting internal and external team members in resolving issues.
• 5+ years of experience with creating supporting documentation (e.g., design documents, architecture diagrams, test procedures, reports).
• 3+ years of experience with Android Automotive, QNX, Linux, and/or AUTOSAR-based operating systems.
• 3+ years of experience with Agile Scrum development methodologies with common workflow tools (e.g., Confluence, GIT, Jira, Jenkins, TestRail).
• History and experience in industry standard Software Quality Assurance standards.
