Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at SFHP, you will report to the Supervisor, Software Engineering and be part of a creative, mission-driven team. You will code software applications based on business requirements, working closely with the team to design, build, and maintain business applications and data automation processes. You will apply common SDLC process methodologies (e.g., AGILE, SCRUM) to your job function, preferably AGILE, and leverage Microsoft's suite of technology platforms (i.e., SQL Server, ASP.NET, Web API, LINQ, and Azure DevOps) to develop software that meets business needs. You will architect, build and test highly optimized, object and service-oriented (SOA) software solutions using the Microsoft .NET Framework, design and build web services to integrate applications, review functional specifications, and author technical specification documents. You will also clarify and understand business requirements to provide the most efficient and optimal application to support the business function and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the common codebase.
Please note that while SFHP supports a hybrid work environment, you will be onsite and in-office a minimum of 4 days per month. This is a hybrid position, based in our Downtown San Francisco office. Salary Range: $130,000 - $155,000/year
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Create and finalize technical specifications documents in response to approved requirements.Design, develop, test, and deploy multi-tiered applications and batch processes.Create and execute unit test plans based on system and validation requirements.Troubleshoot, optimize, and tune applications.Maintain existing code and fix defects whenever needed.Ensure that all software is delivered on time, observing project commitments.Ensure smooth functioning of our development, QA, and production environments.Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts on requirements review.Conduct data analysis; identify issues; recommend and implement solutions.Create ad-hoc and automated reporting solutions.WHAT YOU WILL BRING: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.Knowledge of C#, .NET Framework, ASP.NET Web Forms using Responsive Design Mode, Web API, SQL Server 2019 development (complex SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions), Visual Studio 2019, and Azure DevOps.Expert Knowledge of Console applications, XML, XSLT, XSD, AJAX, JSON.Knowledge of Financial Applications specifically Accounting and Billing.Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP software.7+ years of software engineering experience in C# and advanced SQL Server experience.7+ years of .NET developer experience using Visual Studio.7+ years of proven ability in application development.3+ years delivering on large scale, high-visibility software development projects.WHAT WE OFFER: Medical: You'll have a choice of medical plans, including options from Kaiser and Blue Shield of California, heavily subsidized by SFHP.Dental: You'll have a choice of a basic dental plan or an enhanced dental plan which includes orthodontic coverage.Vision: Employee vision care coverage is available through Vision Service Plan (VSP).Retirement: Employer-matched CalPERS Pension and 401(a) plans, 457 Plan.Time off: 23 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) and 13 paid holidays.Professional development: Opportunities for tuition reimbursement, professional license/membership.ABOUT SFHP: Established in 1997, San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) is an award-winning, managed care health plan whose mission is to provide affordable health care coverage to the underserved low and moderate-income residents in San Francisco County.
