Our Hitachi Energy System Engineering group is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Energy Market Management systems and environments. The Platform Software Engineer leads the development, maintenance, support, provisioning, configuration, security, and operations of platform software used by market applications. This position requires strong coding, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to provide technical leadership for system and other development teams.
Hitachi Energy is looking for a platform software engineer who can maintain legacy enterprise software services including the design and implementation of new features and bug fixes.
Your Responsibilities: Support, monitor and troubleshoot platform deployments ensuring proper execution and performanceSupport project build teams ensuring proper platform features are deliveredResearch, design, develop, and maintain upgrade requests from R&D, customers, other development groups as well as your ownSupport the creation/maintenance of platform regression test procedures including standalone and highly available systemsDefine and follow advanced Cyber Security controls and processes as they relate to platform softwareKeep platform documents updated to reflect latest platform softwareLiving Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Your Background: Experience with different Unix flavors especially Linux OS in a virtualized environmentExperience writing/maintaining shared and static service layersExperience writing highly available/fault-tolerant applicationsExperience with Korn Shell, Bash, Perl, and other scripting languagesExperience with C, C++, Fortran, and Java programming languagesExperience with Oracle DB including development and maintenance of DDL, SQL, DAT files and use of PL/SQL utilityExperience debugging and patching large, legacy code basesExperience with debug tools such as GDB and DBXAbility to engage with customers and resolve issuesStrong technical writing skillsExperience with Cyber Security tools a plusCandidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
