DescriptionAs a Senior Software Engineer at Verily, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing products that are focused on the promise of precision health. Verily's core strategy to advance precision health is by closing the gap between research and care. Our team is responsible for delivering warm, personalized experiences for patients/participants and an adaptive, streamlined experience bridging care delivery and clinical research worlds. Be at the forefront of innovation and tackle exciting challenges within a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
ResponsibilitiesArchitect, design, and develop high-quality fullstack software solutions to meet project requirements, ensuring scalability and performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and technical Architects to define and refine technical specifications, taking ownership of design oversight, scoping, and project deliverables.Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the subteam.Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and uphold best practices, promoting a culture of excellence.Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues to ensure the reliability and stability of our systems.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.5+ years of experience in software engineering, demonstrating a strong technical background.Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Go).Proven track record of delivering high-impact, production-quality software.Preferred Qualifications Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new technologies.Strong communication and teamwork abilities, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture including Backend for frontend (BFF) and Micro Frontend (MFE) patterns.Experience using industry-standard tools including GitHub, Google Cloud, Go, React, Docker, and Terraform.Additional expertise in machine learning, data analysis, or DevOps practices is a plus.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 - $210,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
