As a Senior Software Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in the development of Zoox's autonomous platform. You will work with a broad set of engineering teams across Zoox, as well as with large offshore vendor teams. Your primary focus will be to manage the triage and root cause analysis workflows of issues identified during testing and real-world operations of Zoox's vehicle platforms.
In this role, you will: Manage multiple vendors on a daily/weekly basis and ensure Triage and Quality Assurance analytical work is done on time and with high quality. Serve as the liaison between the vendors and the various engineering teams that are the customers of the vendors' work. Define KPIs and other metrics to measure, monitor, and improve the quality and quantity of work performed by the vendors. Provide concise and effective communications to key stakeholders & leadership on project status, issues/risks, and accomplishments. Collaborate with software, quality assurance, release management, systems engineering, and other teams to best support them. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent engineering experience in place of an engineering degree (STEM). At least 8 years of experience in engineering or program management with a focus on managing vendors, managing engineering, and validation work. Proven track record of managing complex cross-functional projects. Proficient in tools or processes required to manage complex projects (i.e., Gantt charts, risk matrix, Smartsheet, JIRA, Looker, etc.). Ability to concisely and effectively communicate to the senior leadership level of the organization. Bonus Qualifications Project Manager Professional certification (PMP) or equivalent. Experience with autonomous vehicles, test operations, simulation, and/or automotive or aerospace processes is highly desired. Experience with developing and scaling strategies, processes, plans, procedures, reporting, and handling escalations. Compensation There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $220,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
